I'm a guy who needs advice. I did something really dumb. One night when I was out with the boys, I got wasted and had sex in a club with a girl. Meanwhile, my girlfriend of three years was at home waiting for me. It was horrible and I feel really, really bad about it. I didn't tell her, but she found out from another girlfriend of hers that was in the club that night.

My girlfriend is devastated and very pissed off. The problem is, if I wasn't drunk, I would have never, ever done that and I really want her to forgive me. We live together and just put down a down payment on a house because we're planning our wedding in six months. She won't even talk to me. I'm not a bad guy. What can I do?

Man, I think you might be out of luck on this one, although you can try. Don't go the usual flowers and candy route, because you didn't get into an argument, you had sex with another woman. It's way more severe. Go to her and tell her what happened. Tell her how much you drank and how deeply sorry you are for what you've done. And then just wait. That's about all you can do. You've got to give her time to process what happened and make a decision on whether or not she's going to forgive you.
